Tired out but happy! Alex and Chris were really happy to see me. I had to bring gifts home of course! Chris loves her chocs and big mug. Alex is fixated with his aeroplane...
This blog is for my kid(s?). So if they want to, they can look back on what it was like "back then"...

Boarding in a few minutes....see you soon!
Just waiting for my flight out of Belgium. I've had photos and text messages from Chris so I've managed to "see" Alex and Chris these last few days, but I'll be so glad to see them again! I think Alex will be beside himself....and the cats will be all over me! I know exactly what Chris will say...."eeeeeeeeeeeeee!"
For a major European city Maastricht is as peaceful as a large UK village or small town.
The main square is brick paved with no car traffic. The square is pretty big and you need to keep your eyes open for lunatic mopeds - this is due to cycles and mopeds using paths that look like footpaths that cross all over the square...they are brick paved just like the actual square, so it's hard to tell what's square and what's road!
I say the driving is mad, but if you live here I guess it is just normal...and the UK would appear to have mad traffic!
Safe at the hotel. Great view from the window in my room. Free internet access point, so I'll be available on msn messenger should you wish to contact me!
Different city...Same traffic, but on the wrong side. I'm writing this in the taxi after a reasonable flight over from Heathrow to Belgium. The weather is hot and showery. The taxi driver is mental...but that can be said about all the other drivers here as well! Oh these people are nuts in cars!
My first time away from Alex. A business trip to Maastricht and 4 days away. He'll be walking properly by the time I'm home.
Well...he seems happy enough! I guess it's because he can now make stomping noises!
Alex is now getting comfortable walking a few steps, so he was fitted out for his first "proper" shoes today.
Whilst we were out shopping I spotted an old friend. After catching up with her with Alex and Chris we stopped and chatted for a while. It's been a long time since we last spoke, and it made me think that we all say things like "We'll keep in touch" with good intentions, but let friendships drift. Real good friends are hard to find and I think it's a shame when they are lost.
I then recieved a message from my sister that a early childhood friends dad - a really great chap - had passed away at 87. "Uncle" John was a true character and a really good man. My sympathies and love go out to his family.
Yeah...poor joke, but it serves a point today as Alex walked 5 proper steps from Chris to me. Previously he had basically launched himself at people or at best a step and dive.
Todays 5 steps were upright and stable at 13.5 months...not bad for a lad already in 2 to 3 year old clothes! Yes...he's a big lad!
After a lovely time playing at Uncle Soggy's house, Alex has a bath and practices smiling for the camera. More of a gurn than a grin, but still very cute.
Little Alex having fun in a shop ride. Initially he was quite dubious...but that didn't stop him from wanting another go!

100yds and 100/100 score. My first ton at 100yds. I also shot two tons at 50m today...which was nice!
Great new job started today. I'm very happy with it...and Alex gave my company car the thumbs up.
Here they come. 2 new shoots...the first of my first Naga plants!
